Are we accredited?
Yes, we have gone through all the necessary inspections, and we are accredited by QCTO and EDTP SETA.
Why must I do the Basic Child Care Course?
This course is a foundation course. It is also a skills development programe and covers the unit standards towards a National Certificate in ECD.
The course covers development, problems and solutions in children 0-12 years old. First Aid is also covered in this module.
A person with lots of childcare experience can apply for an RPL (recognized prior learning) process. The learners have to complete a Portfolio of Evidence to prove they can do all the work required.
What is the difference between full and part time studies?
The only difference between the two is the cost and length of study time. The full-time course is run from Monday to Friday – The part time course is once a week. Lectures and assignments follow the same schedule.
What can I do with the Basic Child Care qualification?
You can work as:
A professional nanny / au- pair.
An educator in a 0–3-year-old age group
As an au-pair extraordinaire or mothers help overseas
It is also halfway to a full qualification in Early Childhood Development.
Do I have to attend all lectures?
The Professional Child Care College has an 80% attendance policy. If you do not attend 80% of lectures you cannot write exams.
